My passion is my stitching
Hi my name is Joanne (Jo - which is what most people call me & I prefer).
I have been cross stitching since my early teens and I'm passionate about making all things cross stitch.
The original idea of Sharpe's Stitchers came from my Mum and involve myself, my older sister and a close family friend as well. We started going to some local craft fairs and things were going quite well. Unfortunately life took a turn for the worst and other things became more important. We lost my mum to cancer and I became a single Mum, and so for some time my priorities changed, my stitching was packed away for another time.
As the years flew by I never found much time for my stitching, although I did do some wedding samplers, birth samplers and a few other projects for friends and family. Then boom Covid happened and lockdown came, followed by shielding for some (including me), which led to me having alot of time on my hands. So while sat at home, doing nothing much and waiting to see if I would have to cancel my wedding or not! I dug out my stitching as a way to help me relax and focus on something.
This led to a family conversation about reviving Sharpe's Stitchers and taking it online.
And so here I am now, a newly wed (Yay our ceremony was able to go ahead!!!) with a renewed passion for cross stitching, hoping to bring some happiness and smiles to people in these strange times.
